On this work sheet, make a list of your life goals that
will require financial support beyond what you will be
able to provide from your current income.
For example, if your goal is a new home, you will probably plan
to make the mortgage payments from your monthly
salary, but you will need to save for the down payment.
So you would list "new home down payment" as your
goal.
But do not stop there. Where will your new home
be located? Near your current home or 2,000 miles
away? In a city, suburb or rural area? How many
bedrooms and baths? What size lot? How many square
feet?
Then, set the target date by which you would
like to achieve the goal. When you complete the
financial goals work sheet, you are ready
to move on to
Step Two: Inventory.
